Plastigloom
This project presents an artistic reinterpretation of plastiglomerate, a geological formation where plastic fuses with natural materials such as stone and sand. My sculptural pieces simulate this phenomenon, combining collected plastic waste with organic materials to evoke reflection on humanity’s environmental footprint in the Anthropocene.
I explore the intersection of synthetic and natural elements, challenging the boundaries between what is considered natural and artificial. Each piece underscores the persistent presence of plastic within ecosystems, offering a visual commentary on the broader environmental crisis.
Through this series, I use plastic from the Norwegian coast, rocks from Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Spain, Italy. The materials are assembled in a way that suggests they are poised to become plastiglomerates in the future.
